- Norman H. Himelfarb, 80, a Washington area real estate investor and builder, died of cancer April 10 at a hospital in Aventura, Fla.
Mr. Himelfarb was born in Baltimore and moved to Washington as a child. He graduated from the University of Maryland. During World War II, he served in the Navy in North Africa and the Pacific.
He owned and operated Norman H. Himelfarb Real Estate and Investments and built houses and apartment buildings in Washington and its suburbs.
A former resident of Bethesda, he retired and moved to Florida seven years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Hankow Himelfarb of Aventura; two daughters, Robin Bullock of Marietta, Ga., and Sally Jane Head of Seattle; and two granddaughters.
Built a bowling alley on Rockville Pike in the 1960's
