- Mr. Henry Samuel Markell, age 85, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2004. Mr. Markell was born in Washington County, GA, on February 22, 1918, to the late. Isador and Maggie Milliken Markell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Marie Crusselle Markell and son, Henry Daniel Markell. Mr. Markell was the owner and photographer for Atlanta Photo and Engraving. Survivors include, grandchildren, Allen Markell, Scott Markell, Gina Gray, Todd Markell and Jeff Markell; great-grandchildren, Stacy Daugherty, Charles Peavy, Melissa Markell, Kayla Simpson and Danny Markell; and a great-great-grandchild, Isaac Daugherty. Funeral services for Mr. Markell will be held Thursday, January 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in Hightower's Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Carol Rhodes officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Melwood Cemetery, Stone Mountain, GA. Robbie Durst, Colton Hammond, Charles Peavy, Daniel Webster and Cody Webster will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Hightower's Memorial Chapel, Douglasville, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
