Deceased Name: Eloise Wagner
Eloise Wagner, 88, of Northbrook, passed away Nov. 17.
Born Aug. 3, 1910 in Gary, Ind., she moved to Highland Park from Chicago in 1941 and spent the last 10 years in Northbrook. She married Arthur G. Wagner Jr. on Oct. 6, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Mrs. Wagner graduated the University of Illinois and later in life earned a master's degree in education. She was a special education teacher for several years. She also studied Spanish in Mexico and Hebrew in Israel.
In recent years, Mrs. Wagner was a volunteer at the Lieberman Center in Skokie and was active in the Learning Together program in Northbrook. The Chicago Botanic Garden was another of her interests. She was a longtime member of North Shore Congregation Israel.
She is survived by her children, Ellen Lignell of Pt. Townsend, Wash.; Daniel Wagner of Philadelphia, and Martha Wagner of Portland, Ore; three grandchildren, Oliver Lignell of Albany, Calif., and Jonah and Claire Wagner of Philadelphia; three great-grandchildren, Shayna, Hanna and Madison Lignell of Albany, Calif; her daughter-in-law, Mary Eno of Philadelphia; her granddaughter-in-law, Jordana Ash Lignell of Albany, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at North Shore Congregational Israel. For those desiring, memorials may be made in her name to North Shore Congregational Israel or the Chicago Botanic Garden.
