- On June 16, 2013, Sheldon Himelfarb died peacefully at his home. Beloved husband of Gail (Abrahams) Himelfarb, devoted father of Lisa Cohen-Dumani (Daniel) and Jill Himelfarb, and loving brother of Carolyn Hayman (Richard). He also is survived by his grandchildren, Emma, Francesca, Tess and Harry, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Washington Hebrew Congregation, 3935 Macomb St, NW, Washington, DC, on Tuesday, June 18, at 10 am. Interment Judean Memorial Gardens in Olney, MD. The family will receive friends Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 - 9 pm at the Himelfarb residence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure or Montgomery Hospice.
