- Steven Earlee Baxter, age 53 of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Sunday, September 3, 2023 in Washington, DC.
Born September 29, 1969 in Tacoma Park, MD, he was the son of Craig Steven Baxter of Glen Burnie, MD and the late Judith Anne Marshall.
He was a Christian. Steve was a graduate of Berkeley Springs High School. He retired as a police officer with the District of Columbia Police Department. Steve enjoyed fishing and going to jeep events.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 35 years, Michelle Yvonne Via Baxter, at home, four children, Heather Kucharski and Jessica Baxter, both of Berkeley Springs, Kyle Baxter of Hedgesville, WV and Leslie Baxter of Hancock, MD, two sisters, Candie Brown of Great Cacapon, WV and Nancy Stotler of Berkeley Springs, one brother Craig Baxter of Spring Mills, WV, eight grandchildren, Christopher, Chelsea, Connor, Cayden, Cayleigh, Camden, Brantley and Violet and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, Steve is preceded in death by one son, Darren Baxter.
Celebration of Life for Steve will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Company Social Hall, 34 N. Mercer Street, Berkeley Springs, WV. Burial will be private.
