- Alex Livingston passed away 6/18/2016 in the home that he shared with his wife Amanda in Mill Valley without pain or struggle after a hard-fought two-year battle with Melanoma at the age of 29. Alex grew up in Scarsdale, NY. He had a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Harvard and was a talented writer and loved sports. He moved to San Francisco in 2009 when he met his wife. In June 2014 he was diagnosed with stage IV Melanoma just nine months after their October 2013 wedding. Alex was incredibly smart, wise beyond his years, and well-loved. His love of his family, friends were all inspiring. He was incredibly generous with his knowledge whether it was helping fellow Melanoma patients find new cutting edge treatments or helping friends start their own business. Alex is also survived by his mother Susan, father John, and brother Evan Livingston in New York. He also leaves behind his Marin County family mother-in-law, Nancy, father-in-law Pat, brother-in-law Kevin, and sister-in-law Mallory Burke. To honor his legacy, the Livingston family has started the Alex Livingston Scholarship Fund. Alex's dream in life was to own and operate his own summer camp - a direct result of his 16 years as a camper and counselor at Camp Lenox in Lee, MA. He also worked for Camp Lenox for two full years. This scholarship will benefit campers who are deserving, but unable to afford the tuition at Camp Lenox.
